My first Christmas Program

At home before the Christmas Program

Singing "Jingle Bells"

Tonight was my first Christmas Program at my daycare (Kinderworld in North Liberty). My class (2-3 year olds) sang "Jingle Bells." I am not sure how many of us sang or if it was mostly our teachers, Ms. Amanda and Ms. Nicole, but for little tikes, I think that we all did really good. I was so proud to go up to the stage and have Mommy and Daddy watch me sing. When I got up there, I saw them in the audience and I waved at them.

After we got done singing, Santa Clause came. Wow! That was so cool. Mommy and Daddy said that he has brought me toys and put them under my tree the last couple of Christmas', but I don't remember that. This whole Christmas season, Mommy and Daddy have been reading me "Twas the Night Before Christmas. " It is my favorite book. Santa Clause is in that book, so I was really excited to seem him at my Christmas program. When Santa asked me what I wanted for Christmas, all I could think of to say to him was "Merry Christmas, Santa."

A sledding we will go

For our first snow this year, Mommy and Daddy took me outside to go sledding. We went sledding down the little hill right next to our house. It was really cold outside, but it was so much fun. I can't wait to go again.

Decorating for Christmas

I helped Mommy and Daddy put up the Christmas decorations this year. We have a big tree in the livingroom and lots of decorations around the house. The lights are so pretty. My favorite was helping Mommy and Daddy decorate the tree. That was fun and I did a great job.

Thanksgiving

There are so many things to be thankful for this year. I am so thankful to have a warm home, a full tummy, good health, loving parents and family, and toys that make me happy. I feel so blessed.

This year we spent Thanksgiving in Iowa with Mommy's friend from work: Ginny, Matt, and Neala, and Monika (and dog Sydney). We had a great day.

Trip to New Orleans

The week before Thanksgiving, Daddy and I went to New Orleans with Mommy. She was there on a business trip. We were there for five nights and I got to do a lot of things while I was there. Since we stayed downtown New Orleans, I went to the Riverwalk and got to see some really big ships. I got to ride on a trolley. Daddy took me to an aquariam where I got to pet a sting ray and a baby shark. Wow!!! That was really cool. We also went to the Hurricane Katrina memorial.

Happy Halloween

Last night I got to go trick or treating in our neighborhood with my friends, Davis and Jack. I dressed up like Spiderman and my friends dressed up like Bumblebee from the Transformers and Batman. We looked pretty cool.

Bloomsbury Farm

The past couple of weeks hasn't been the best for me. I got croup and missed almost a week of daycare. And then, Papa and Nana Dunn were here, and I barely felt like playing with them. Luckily, I am feeling better now and got to go to Bloomsbury Farms with my friends, Grace and Graham. We got to see some animals, go in a corn maze, go in a tractor tire maze, go down a huge slide, and ride in barrels pulled by a tractor. We had a great time and the weather wasn't too bad either.

Wilson's Apple Orchard

This weekend we went to Wilson's Apple Orchard. We also met some of my friends out there (Grace, Graham, Ava, Neala, and Addy). It was a really nice day. We walked out into the orchard and I got to pick apples. I put some in our bucket and took a bite out of every one of them to make sure they were good....They were really good!!!

Pee-pee in the Potty

Today was the first time that I went pee-pee into the potty...twice!! What a big day! I have tried several times, but never got it accomplished until today. Yeh for me!!!!

Riding on lawnmower and tractor

Last weekend we went to Nana and Papa Dunn's house. While we were there, Papa took me on a ride on his riding John Deere lawnmower and his big John Deere tractor. Wow! That was so cool!!!
While I was there I also got to see my cousins, aunt and uncles. It was a fun weekend, but I was really tired when we got home.

My 2nd Birthday

Today I turned 2. What a big day for me! When I woke up this morning, Mommy and Daddy had put balloons all over my bedroom. Then, I got to go outside and play with my new play yard. WOW! It is so much fun. There are swings, a slide, a rock climbing wall, and a play tower with a telescope and a driving wheel. Mommy took the day off of work so I played outside most of the day. Then Daddy took the afternoon off so got to play with him too. Tonight Mommy made my favorite dinner (spaghetti made with bow tie noodles) and we had birthday cake. All day I sang "Happy Birthday to you". It was a fun day. I think this was a good start to being "2"!!!

Iowa State Fair

It was a beautiful day to go to the Iowa State Fair today. First I got to go on a bus (shuttle) from the parking lot to the fair grounds. That was cool. Then, I got to see horses, cows, chickens, goats, pigs, and the ever famous butter cow at the fair. I also got to go on a giant slide with Daddy and sit on a big John Deere lawnmower. We were there about four hours and I was pooped out. What a great day!

Great Grandma's beautiful backyard

This weekend Mommy, Daddy, and I went back to Lincoln so that Daddy could help Namma get Great Grandma's house ready for her sale. While we were there, I got to go out to her house and play around in her back yard. I had a lot of fun and can only imagine all of the memories that Daddy had with Great Grandma and Grandpa back there.

Counting to 10

I almost counted to 10 tonight, voluntarily without any probing. I said "one, teeoo, thee, four, five, six, then said eight, nine, and yeh" (and clapped, of course)! After that Mommy told me what a good job I had done and then I did it again...I think I surpised Mommy that I could do this...

Allergic to cashews

A few weeks ago, Daddy shared a tiny little piece of a cashew and a peanut with me. Shortly afterwards, I broke out with hives around my mouth. Mommy and Daddy took me to the quick care doctor and I didn't have any respiratory issues, they gave me benedryl, and I headed home. Mommy made me an appt with my pediatrician and she sent me to an allergy specialist. They tested me for peanut, cashew, pecan, walnut, and an almond allergy. It turns out that I am allergic to the cashew. I am glad it is not a peanut, because I love peanut butter. Now Mommy has to carry and epi pen with her and I have one at daycare too. I will have to be very careful what I eat, but it could have been a lot worse. All is good....

Uncle Rusty and Danielle came to visit

Uncle Rusty and Danielle came to visit me (and Mommy and Daddy too, but mostly me). They also brought along some of Daddy's friends from Lincoln (Dan, Steve, and Jason H). We had a good time at our house. They played a lot with me in the back yard and chased me around the house.

Visit from Namma, Aunt Amber, and cousins

I forgot to put a post on here that Namma Johnson, Aunt Amber, and cousins Skyler, Tierra, and Zander came to visit during the end of June. We had a fun weekend.

This weekend, Nana and Papa Dunn came to visit me. Daddy was gone so it was just Mommy, me, Nana, and Papa. We had a fun weekend, but I missed Daddy too.

Fourth of July, 2009

This weekend was pretty laid back. We spent some time with friends and the rest of the time we just spent time together as a family. Mommy and Daddy inflated a small pool in the backyard (I think it was one they were supposed to have inflated last year when I was a baby) and I played in that and in the sprinkler for hours. What a great way so celebrate America's birthday!

Summer Fun

Mommy and Daddy had a fence put in the back yard. They said that I needed corralled in. I was so sad when I saw the fence that I ran up to it and tried to knock it down. When it wouldn't fall over, I threw myself on the ground and yelled "out". For some reason, while I was doing this, Mommy and Daddy just stood there smiling and said "exactly why we got the fence".

Since that time, I have gotten over this issue and am enjoying summer.
