Today I am five months old. I can hardly believe how funny things are. I laugh at funny expressions and try to make Mommy and Daddy laugh, too. When someone says "Sabryn", "Sabey", or "Sabe", I know they are talking to me! Cool!

Today I had a picture taking session with my girlfriends, Hayden and Norah. We all three wore our pink tutus. It took longer than expected for the session because of all the breaks. House full of babies!

This weekend Mommy and Daddy's friends came in to town (Meggan, Eric and Roe; and Brian, Mary, and Erin) and brought their babies. The house was full of girls! Roe is 9 months old and Erin is 15 months old. Sabryn, of course, was the youngest (4 months). I was the oldest! I was a really good helper. I picked up toys, helped clean up their messes after they ate, and I tried to be quiet while they were sleeping (that one was the hardest).

I am 4 months old now. I constantly have my hands in my mouth and like to play with them by moving them in different directions. I also like to laugh and giggle and am getting really good at vocalizations (the louder, the better). My favorite ticklish spots are right under the chin, my neck, and my legs. Mommy, Daddy, and big brother are so funny. When they are laughing, I start to laugh too even though I have no idea what is funny! I am sleeping about 6 hours. I go to bed around 8:00 and 8:30 and generally want a bottle about 3:00. This month, I also got my first cold. I had a bad cough and a runny nose. It wasn't fun, but I am getting better.

Namma and Nana and Papa visit so Mommy can go back to work

Namma and Nana and Papa came to visit. It was a little bittersweet. We were so excited to see them again, but they were coming because Mommy had to go back to work. Mommy didn't want me to have to go to daycare until Feb 1 so Namma came for the beginning of the week and Papa and Nana came for the end of the week. Mommy was sad to have to go back to work, but it was a nice transition having the grandparents take care of me the first week. When I do go to daycare, I will be in good hands at Tracy's house (next door even).

I am three months old already. I am growing like a little weed! I am batting at toys and starting to develop his hand-eye coordination by reaching for things I would like to play with. I like playing on my floor gym or in my bouncy seat because it is easy for me to grab at the toys. When I was at Nana and Papa's over Christmas, I laughed outloud for the first time. I am sleeping for about 6-7 hours a night and eating about 5 ounces at a time. Also, I had another ultrasound of my hips and the doctor said that I don't have hip dysplasia. That was great news!

We went over to the Walker's house in the afternoon and Grace and I had fun dancing around the house. We went home in the early evening and hung out there the rest of the night. On Christmas Eve, we left Lincoln and went to Atkinson for the Dunn family Christmas. We all just hung out at Nana and Papa's house together. That was nice. We left for Nebraska on Tuesday, December 21. First we went to Lincoln to celebrate Christmas with the Johnson family. We stayed at Namma's house with her kitties (Tucker and Spoofer--my favorite). While we were there, I got to go to Zander's school for lunch with Daddy and Sabryn spent some quality time with Namma while Mommy got a facial and a pedicure (thanks, Namma) with Aunt Amber. We celebrated Christmas at Aunt Amber's house once with Namma and then the next night with Grandpa Johnson.

We opened Christmas presents before we went back to Nebraska. We also asked Santa to come to our house early since we weren't going to be here when he came on Christmas Eve. It was pretty cool getting to open up a bunch of presents before everybody else. I had on my list that I wanted the following: 1) Star Wars action figures, 2) Superman, 3) a new puppy, and 4) movies. I got all of that except for the puppy. Mommy said that we don't always get exactly what we want (darn!). From Santa I got a new tool bench and an easle. Sabryn really didn't have a list, but she got a Cabbage Patch doll, an Itty Bitty American Girl doll, and some clothes. Thanks, Mommy, Daddy, and Santa!!!

Today, I am 2 months old. I have grown a lot. I love to smile and I try to stand on my legs.

I recognize Daddy and Mommy and Big Brother and I get so excited when I see them. I am sleeping through the night now. I usually go to bed between 9 and 10 and get up around 5:30. Pretty good!

I had an ultrasound on my hips to make sure that I didn’t have any hip dysplasia. This is because I was breech and transverse before I was born. They looked ok but they want me to return again in January for another look to make sure.

Happy Thanksgiving!

We all spent Thanksgiving at our home. It was nice to not have to get into the car and go somewhere over a long weekend. We watched a parade on TV and then Mommy cooked dinner. We had turkey, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, pink salad, and stuffing. Yummy!

Speaking of turkey, I made a turkey hat at my daycare. Mommy says that when I wear it I am officially a "Turkey"! What is she talking about?

Today, I am a month old already. I am making good eye contact (with a little bit of eye crossing--which drives Daddy crazy), starting to smile, and eating about 3-4 ounces every couple hours. I am still waking up about every couple hours at night, but that will get better. Life is good!

Today was my Kinderwold Daycare Halloween Party. I took treats and shared them with my friends. Then Mommy and Daddy came to daycare and we had a "Halloween Parade". New Baby Sister

I am so proud to announce the arrival of my new baby sister! She was born on October 18, 2010, at 11:56 pm. She weighed in at 6 lbs, and 10.4 oz and was 20 inches long. I am so happy that she is finally here. She is just beautiful! While she was being born and Mommy and Daddy were at the hospital, Nana and Papa Dunn and Namma Johnson came and stayed with me. It was good to have them here. They were excited to see her too.

Now this blog will have to change to make room for my baby sister. I changed the name and even added a little pink. I am going to be a great big brother.

Wilson's Apple Orchard

We had a great time at the apple orchard this year! I picked and ate a dozen apples I think! Daddy even held me up to the tree so that I could reach the good apples way up top! Hawkeye Game

Daddy took me to my first Hawkeye Football game. As a bonus, we rode the "Hawkeye Express" train to the game and it was a blast. It rained most of the game, but Daddy and I still had a good time. My favorite part was cheering for the Hawkeyes, only instead of saying "Go Hawks", I said "Go Big Red". Hopefully nobody noticed!

3rd Birthday

The weekend before my third birthday was spent in Des Moines, Iowa. We met Nana, Papa, Uncle Mitch, Namma, Grandpa and Sue, and Tierra and Zander at a hotel. We went swimming and had pizza. My friend Graham and his parents came over to the hotel and helped me celebrate too. I wanted some new Toy Story toys for my birthday and everybody blessed me with things that I wanted. Mommy's friend, Ginny, made me some awesome "Batman" cupcakes. I was so happy.

On my birthday, Mommy and Daddy both took the day off of work to share the day with me. We went to Chuckie Cheese for lunch. I got to ride on a bunch of rides and had pizza. We had a great day just hanging out!

Summer Update

This has been a busy summer. I played outside a lot this summer and also got to go on some fun trips. I also took my first set of swimming lessons. They were fun. I went to a big swimming pool and Daddy went with me. We traveled to St. Louis with our friends, the Walkers. While in St. Louis, I went swimming and we went to the zoo. We also went to Kansas City to see our friends, the Carters and the O'Hares. They both have new babies so I got a chance to get some practice in holding babies before my new sister comes. In August, we went back to Lincoln to watch Uncle Mitch in the State Special Olympics bowling. He did awesome! He got a silver (way to go, Mitch)!!

The rest of the summer was spent going to the park, playing in my back yard, learning to ride my bike (with training wheels), and swimming at Lake McBride. It was fun.

We spent the 4th of July in Lincoln with Namma, Grandpa Johnson, Aunt Amber, and Cousins Skyler, Tierra, and Zander. Mommy and Daddy said that it was America's birthday!! It was a busy weekend. Namma had a get-together at her house and then we lit off fireworks in her front yard. Some of them were very loud. I had fun with the ones that you throw on the ground and they snap. The next day, we went to a parade in Seward and I also got to go to a carnival. Because it rained that day, the big fireworks were cancelled. It was a big day and I was very tired by the end of the weekend. Happy Birthday, America!

Mommy, Daddy, and Namma painted my room blue this weekend. They took out my toddler bed and now I have a big boy bed. It is a full-sized bed with Star Wars sheets (they are just like the sheets that Daddy had when he was little). I love my room. I have Star Wars pictures and decals on the wall too. It is way cool!

Uncle Rusty came to visit

Daddy and Uncle Rusty planned a big weekend in Chicago together and then Uncle Rusty came and stayed at our house for a few days. We had a really good time. We played alot at our house, went to the mall, rode on the carousel (but Uncle Rusty got sick and had to get off), and played some more. It was so much fun spending some time with him and we were very worn out by the end of the day. I miss him and wish that he lived closer.

Potty Trained

I am now all potty trained. Yeh for me! Mommy and Daddy are so proud of me. The only time that I wear a diaper now is when I go to bed at night. On many mornings I even wake up dry. I am really good about telling them when I have to go to the bathroom and I have only had one accident in the last month! Whoo Hoo!!!

Lawnmowers and more lawnmowers

I love lawnmowers. I can hear one from afar and I can spot one hiding in the back of people's open garage. I have the whole process down. I told Mommy and Daddy, "The grass grows. Daddy gets the lawnmower out and puts gas in it. Then he starts it and mows the grass down."

This summer I got to spend a long weekend at Nana and Papa Dunn's house. They had a house full, including Uncle Mitch, Aunt Tiff and Uncle Henry, and Caden and Carter. Papa got his lawnmower out and took me for a ride. I rode with him on it for almost an hour. That was one of the biggest highlights of the summer so far!!!

New baby sister is coming

I learned that I am going to be a big brother to a new baby sister. How exciting!! Mommy and Daddy said that she will be here around Halloween time. Mommy said that the baby is growing in her tummy. That is just weird to me. When she told me,at first, I thought that she was kidding. I really laughed hard. Then, she told me that I used to be in her tummy. Now that is even more weird. What is she talking about? Regardless, I am practicing on sharing so that I am ready for her to come. Mommy and Daddy said that I will be a great big brother. I hope they are right!!!

Mommy and Daddy took me to see Elmo's Green Thumb at the Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids. It was so much fun. Elmo planted a flower and then all of Elmo's friends watched it grow. There were so many movie stars there, like Elmo, Telly, Bert, Ernie, Big Bird, Abby, Zoe, Oscar, and Grover. I wanted to give them a hug so bad, but they didn't have time. It was a great show. I wanted to go back again the next day too.

New Truck

One of my first new summer toys was my battery operated Ford F150 truck. It is an early birthday present from Mommy and Daddy. They thought they would give it to me now so that I had the summer to play with it. Luckily, we have a big field in our backyard so I can drive it back there and have all kinds of free space. It is pretty cool and even has a working radio that gets real radio stations.

This Easter we spent in Iowa. It was just Mommy, Daddy, and me. We had a really good weekend. We dyed Easter eggs and then on Easter morning the Easter Bunny left me a fun basket full of Star Wars stuff and candy. Yey!! Star Wars is one of my favorite things right now. I am not sure if that is a hereditary trait or not, but if it is, I definitely got that one from my daddy!!! After I played with my new things, the Easter Bunny hid eggs outside and inside. I had a lot of fun finding them. Mommy and Daddy even hid them twice so that I could find them again. All and all, the weather was great and I spent a lot of time outside. I missed seeing my other family, but luckily Namma Johnson, Grandpa Johnson, and Nana and Papa Dunn have come to visit me in the last month. I had a lot of fun with each of them, but always wish we lived closer to them. Maybe someday.

Almost potty trained

Has it really been that long since my last post? Now I have been busy, but I didn't think I had been that busy. I guess the biggest thing that has happened in the last couple of months is that I am almost potty trained. I wear big boy underwear to daycare and have only had one accident in two months. I still don't want to poop on the toilet. I don't know why, but I just don't want to. The second Mommy puts a diaper on me in the evening before bed, I poop. It is just like clockwork. Mommy says that she can't understand how I do that all of the time since I used to poop two or three times during the day. Every night when I get home from daycare, Mommy makes me sit on the toilet hoping that I will go, but I will just wait.

Weekend at Aunt Tiff and Uncle Henry's house

Last weekend Mommy and I went and spent the weekend visiting Aunt Tiff and Uncle Henry's house. Daddy didn't go because he went to Arizona to celebrate Uncle Rusty's 30th birthday. I also got to spend some fun time with my cousins, Caden and Carter, Nana and Papa, and Uncle Mitch. We had a lot of fun watching movies, reading books, and playing with lot of different toys.

One of my favorite presents (out of the many favorite presents) that I got for Christmas was my camera from Nana and Papa Dunn. I always want to "try" Mommy and Daddy's camera and now I have my own. It is digital and Mommy can download them onto her computer. It is pretty cool.

Since Christmas, I have taken 457 pictures. My daddy loves to take pictures too, so that is where I think my love for "capturing the moment" is coming from. I thought that I would share some of my favorite pictures.

As you can see, many times, I take pictures of myself. I am wondering if it is because I have the camera turned around the wrong way. Usually, I am usually trying to take pictures of something else. I will keep working on this. Not a bad start.

First day in "big boy underwear"

Yesterday was my first day trying out big boy underwear. I was so excited to try them out. Mommy gave me the choice of "Cars", "Thomas the Train", or "Elmo." I decided to try the Elmo ones. They fit well and were comfortable so I went ahead and gave it a try. The morning went well. I stayed dry. The afternoon didn't go as well as I had hoped. I had two wets and one really dirty. Mommy decided to throw the last ones away. Then, last evening, I went back to a diaper. Today, we tried it again, and when Mommy asked me if I had to go to the bathroom, I told her I just did, but in my pants. I think that I just forget that I don't have a diaper on. I will get it. I know that I will.

Christmas with Mommy and Daddy

Mommy, Daddy, and I celebrated Christmas before we left for Nebraska. Santa even knew to come to my house before we left to leave me a new train table and train set. Wow, what a fun surprise. Mommy and Daddy gave me tools, books, an airport, tonka trucks, cars and clothes. I am having so much fun playing with them all. Even though I was blessed to receive so many wonderful things this year, I still remember the reason for the season. Happy Birthday, Jesus!!

Christmas 2009 with the Dunn Family

We finally made it to see Papa and Nana Dunn and Uncle Mitch on the 27th after a two day delay due to the snow snow storm. We stayed all week and I did nothing except played with my new toys. We didn't even leave the house. It was relaxing, to say the least. We didn't get to see Aunt Tiff, Uncle Henry or Carter and Caden Christmas weekend like we had planned because they had to work on Monday so they decided to come home on New Year's Eve. We rang in the new year with all of Mommy's family, which we didn't expect to get to do. It was a great way to start off 2010.

Christmas 2009 with the Johnson's

We had a great time with all of our family and friends this Christmas season. We left on December 21 for Lincoln to spend time with Daddy's family. Uncle Rusty and Danielle came in to town from Arizona on the 22nd. We also got to see some really good friends (Bogema's) that we hadn't seen for a while too. We celebrated at Aunt Amber's house this year. We had a great time all together. The only draw back was the snow blizzard that came on the 24th. Lincoln got about 13 inches of snow with a lot of wind. It was a mess getting around and it ended up delaying our trip to Atkinson. We felt blessed though that we were at least snowed in with family!!

Singing "Jingle Bells"

Tonight was my first Christmas Program at my daycare (Kinderworld in North Liberty). My class (2-3 year olds) sang "Jingle Bells." I am not sure how many of us sang or if it was mostly our teachers, Ms. Amanda and Ms. Nicole, but for little tikes, I think that we all did really good. I was so proud to go up to the stage and have Mommy and Daddy watch me sing. When I got up there, I saw them in the audience and I waved at them.

After we got done singing, Santa Clause came. Wow! That was so cool. Mommy and Daddy said that he has brought me toys and put them under my tree the last couple of Christmas', but I don't remember that. This whole Christmas season, Mommy and Daddy have been reading me "Twas the Night Before Christmas. " It is my favorite book. Santa Clause is in that book, so I was really excited to seem him at my Christmas program. When Santa asked me what I wanted for Christmas, all I could think of to say to him was "Merry Christmas, Santa."

A sledding we will go

For our first snow this year, Mommy and Daddy took me outside to go sledding. We went sledding down the little hill right next to our house. It was really cold outside, but it was so much fun. I can't wait to go again.

I helped Mommy and Daddy put up the Christmas decorations this year. We have a big tree in the livingroom and lots of decorations around the house. The lights are so pretty. My favorite was helping Mommy and Daddy decorate the tree. That was fun and I did a great job.

Thanksgiving

There are so many things to be thankful for this year. I am so thankful to have a warm home, a full tummy, good health, loving parents and family, and toys that make me happy. I feel so blessed.

This year we spent Thanksgiving in Iowa with Mommy's friend from work: Ginny, Matt, and Neala, and Monika (and dog Sydney). We had a great day.

Trip to New Orleans

The week before Thanksgiving, Daddy and I went to New Orleans with Mommy. She was there on a business trip. We were there for five nights and I got to do a lot of things while I was there. Since we stayed downtown New Orleans, I went to the Riverwalk and got to see some really big ships. I got to ride on a trolley. Daddy took me to an aquariam where I got to pet a sting ray and a baby shark. Wow!!! That was really cool. We also went to the Hurricane Katrina memorial.

Happy Halloween

Last night I got to go trick or treating in our neighborhood with my friends, Davis and Jack. I dressed up like Spiderman and my friends dressed up like Bumblebee from the Transformers and Batman. We looked pretty cool.

Bloomsbury Farm

The past couple of weeks hasn't been the best for me. I got croup and missed almost a week of daycare. And then, Papa and Nana Dunn were here, and I barely felt like playing with them. Luckily, I am feeling better now and got to go to Bloomsbury Farms with my friends, Grace and Graham. We got to see some animals, go in a corn maze, go in a tractor tire maze, go down a huge slide, and ride in barrels pulled by a tractor. We had a great time and the weather wasn't too bad either.
